Grubbs Cottage, Lyttelton
I visited Lyttelton this morning, as part of a group from Nature Photographic Society. It was probably more of a fun visit, than focussing on our photography. Very enjoyable and super company!
We all enjoyed going up to the Timeball Station and admiring the restoration that's been done to the Timeball tower.
And the image I've blipped is of Grubbs Cottage. John Grubb was one of the earliest residents of Lyttelton. He was born in Tayport, Fifeshire, Scotland in 1817. I can just imagine the wonderful accent! He came to Lyttelton in 1848 as a ships carpenter.
