Snap shots of Rydal Mount.
I am posting my blipfoto later than usual as we have been out all day enjoying the lovely weather with a drive to the Lake District.
Paul and me drove up to Rydal Mount, by way of Kirkstone Pass and The Struggle, as the traffic into Ambleside and Grasmere had got congested. It was a longer route but the views were glorious.
The vast woodland and informal gardens at Rydal were all coming to life with wild snowdrops of three different varieties and the indigenous daffodils that are shorter than the cultivated ones. There was a mistiness over Lake Windermere but it all looked beautiful for this time of year.
The purple crocuses growing in the grass were open in the warm sunshine. If he were still living there I am sure William Wordsworth would have felt elated. We enjoyed a pot of Earl Grey and Ginger Treacle cake sitting in the walled garden, and listening to a robin singing.
After that, we drove to Brantwood and Coniston. We enjoyed the view of the lake and jetty. On the way home we shopped at Booths in Clitheroe.
There was a fantastic pink sunset as we listened to the rugby match between England and Wales. Well done to the Welsh.
I am now going to watch The Voice before Casualty while indulging in a piece of Vanilla cheesecake. Life is good.
From the Bible:
As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
