Togetherness
After a late start and a substantial breakfast (American pancakes with bacon and maple syrup - always makes me think of Tom), we went for a short walk around the Common. Pleasantly warm, and air was full of bird song. Lots of people around, so not much wildlife to be seen, or so we thought. Then MrM spotted a large hare just below the tree line. As we watched it, we were amazed to see a stoat - in its white winter coat - dart out from the undergrowth and chase after the hare. Hoping the hare got away! Then, as we drove away from the Common, we spotted these two right beside the road. Think they're frogs (rather than toads), but not entirely sure.
MrM spent the first half of the afternoon in the workshop, and then came in to work on the ceiling in the living room. I applied knot seal to the cladding already on the ceiling, thankfully not too many planks, then put some on the knots on the next dozen or so pieces of wood before MrM put them on to the ceiling. Rest of the afternoon and evening spent doing bitty little jobs around the house, and dashing in to the living room at frequent intervals to help MrM or to put knot seal on the next few pieces of wood.
It's 10.30pm and we've just finished for the day. About to sit down for an hour with a well-earned glass of red before bed...
