An Island Life

Herring Gull

Lots of action from my window today as I worked away on my pc. A ship laying cable across the firth, a few oil tankers, a couple of canoeists in the bay, a family arrived in a rib and had a picnic on the beach. A yacht dropped anchor for the afternoon outside my window.

I took this blip of a herring gull though. It’s the archetypal seaside gull but I believe it’s on the red alert list as populations are in decline.
