A blast from the past!

This is without a doubt and Emergency Blip tonight. I have delved back into the archives and found this image which shows the entire spread of Wombat Hollow. The photo was taken before the banksias had taken off and it would be impossible to get a shot like this now. The Guest Room is located at the far right hand side of the structure and I’m happy to say that many guests used to enjoy staying in the “Waratah Room” during the early days because I used to rent it out to tourists. That was long before Airbnb existed.

CCN drove down with me to Westmead this morning to see whether or not I would be heading back down again on Thursday to have my recent health issue dealt with. I have spent the last few days lining up all the ducks in a row so that the whole event would go seamlessly, particularly where my beautiful partner was concerned. It now seems certain that by this time next week I’ll be a new girl and we can start a whole new chapter without the ticking time bomb upsetting the apple cart. I have to admit I just didn’t see this coming and it has blindsided me to a certain extent. I guess I just have to face the fact that when you get to 70 you’ve got to take a more considered approach to your health and wellbeing and you just can’t swan along anymore. Looks like the choc top ice creams at the cinema may have to be considered in a different light from now on :)
