Clouds and Sun
Today we dropped off my car at the shop for its annual checkup, dropped off Ozzie at Dana's house for a sleepover with his little buddy and drove back down the road to Berkeley.
The clouds were beautiful on the drive down and I snapped away with my iPhone all the way down. This was my favorite, despite the cars and the road, because I loved the sun just emerging from the clouds.
We stopped off at the flat pack emporium and checked out the possibilities for a stand-up desk for our office. There is no such thing as a quick trip through this store as anyone who has followed the arrows through this labyrinthine place knows, and there was no hope of transporting the very large flat packs in OilMan's very small car, so we left with nothing but a meatball lunch and a pile of papers for our efforts. As we emerged from the store, the sun was shining, it was raining and a rainbow arched over the blue and yellow facade. Must mean that we'll be back.
We had dinner with our across the street neighbors and laughed about the fact that we had been talking about having dinner together for two years, but we had to move away to make it happen. Sort of like living near a famous tourist attraction and never going to visit it until out of town friends come to stay.
The party was very nice. ALL the neighbors were there. The kids made little good-bye pictures for us and the grown-ups made a toast and shared some stories. I'm not good at being the center of attention, but we were among old friends....
