New gadget

Disaster struck 2 days ago as our beloved Gaggia espresso machine packed up.   We reckon we have had it for 20 years during which time it has been used every day.   It has been struggling for a few months and on Tuesday the pump finally stopped working.

A bit of research led us to this beauty which is far more automatic than the old one.  It even grinds the coffee beans.

The results so far are very good and should get even better as we learn how to drive it.   

It was fortuitous that I received £70 worth of John Lewis vouchers just before the old one broke.    They have been put to good use.
