Monte

We visited Monte today - a suburb of Funchal high above the city and reached today by cable car. We visited the Botanical Gardens and also the tropical garden of the Monte Palace. All very well laid out and relaxing to wander about in. You need however to be reasonably fit to visit this area - both gardens were built on steep slopes and involved a fair amount of walking and climbing.
