The Tree
None of us wanted to get up this morning! But, we had to. Unsurprisingly the porridge bowl from yesterday hadn't even made it to the sink (we evidently weren't in very much yesterday!) so there was plenty of clearing and washing up to do before breakfast.
After breakfast Steve got the tree out of the loft (hurrah!!) and he and Ben set about building it while Charley slept on me. I think they managed about 7 or 8 decorations before it was time for school! We promised not to do any more to it until he got back..... (Steve got the lights on, no help from Charley...!)
Finished decorating the tree when Ben got home, I kinda like how it's ended up. Some near the bottom on my side where I was sitting protecting the thing from Charley, some higher up on Ben's side where he could reach up to, and the really precious ones at the top. The small angels had to go up at the top near the mummy angel too.... We only had one fatality, one of my long slender baubles was taste-tested by Charley who also did a crunch test. It crunched. It is no more :( But, he has investigated the tree and decorations, considered it good, and it is being allowed to remain. The lamp, accessible from the sofa, is still FAR more interesting and still gets a FAR more impressive response from Steve or me....
Dinner... Chicken kievs. From scratch! And they were good too. Reeeeally good. And given I'm not a fan of either chicken breasts or kievs that's quite a result :) (I should point out it was me who suggested them as well, knowing Steve can't resist a challenge at the moment!)
