National and Liberation days (from the Iraq invasion) are celebrated tomorrow and Tuesday but people are already out now practising. The kids come out on the streets with water pistols and water filled balloons and go crazy! This is why I’m going to Cairo tomorrow for six days..

A lovely day at the Club. I took Doaa and we did a Pilates class, had a long beach walk, lay in the sun, lunched and had a relaxing day outdoors. Just what teachers need!

Home to pack then a late night walk with my walking buddy after he finished work. We sat on the Corniche in ‘his place’ then walked and talked, at times wondering why teacher and student, now becoming friends, have ended up in Kw8. But that’s already been decided by Allah. So I’m learning.
