Our Luang Prabang accommodation. Sad to leave.

Last half day in Luang Prabang.   Quite taken with this place, and slightly sad to be leaving.  Anyway, after a morning walk about, and a 300 step climb to the towns most popular stupa, the golden thing in Extras, we lunched, then off in our mini van which could seat 10 or 12 but today had only us and 7 others.  Despite the warnings of driving standards, we braved the front seat and whilst the road was rough in many places, and overtaking somewhat hairy we made it to Vang Vien, a 4 hour run which took 5 hours. The last 4 or 5 miles in darkness and rain.  Now that was HAIRY in the extreme. Why approx 50% of scooters show no lights I will never understand.

A fellow passenger today suggeted the best thing to do in Vang Vien is a hot air baloon ride, so watch this blog tomorrow, if we dare.
