What a load of Carrots
This is the carrot crate at the stables. Everyone is free to help themselves to give their horses a wee treat.
The funny thing is that these carrots come from the local veggie packing plant - and they PAY someone to take them away! Yes, there are a few dodgy looking runts in there, but most of these carrots I would very happily have in my dinner. But they just don't make the grade for M&S, Sainsbury's, Tesco etc - too small, too wiggly, too big or just not quite perfect.
As the farrier said the other day - you'd be very proud if you'd grown them in your own garden - but they are just 'not what the consumer wants' apparently.
The horses don't seem to mind.
