Reeds at Dishley Pool
Basil and I finally got to Dishley Pool, which lies close to the River Soar in Loughborough, just before 1430 this afternoon. The bordering paths have been much improved and I think it's now possible to walk the perimeter. Overcast and a light haze. Masses of goat willow catkins and dried reeds. Overall a magical feel.
I've worked on this in the spirit of Irene Froy, lightening it in the hope of making the view seem even more mysterious.
The Black Brook flows past the western side of the pool where fishermen spend many hours in the summer.
