Canoeing the Kerboums

Another beautiful day so we packed up early and headed to Plettenberg Bay then on to the kerboums River. We hired a double canoe, popped some lunch, drinks and a camera (of course!) into a dry bag then off to explore the river.
The breeze was blowing up river so it was easy to paddle and enjoy the view and peace.
The soaring hills on the banks were covered in trees, alive with unseen songful birds.
When we got too hot, we pulled into sandy embankments and cooled off in the river- paradise!
A lunch upstream on a sunny shore, more leisurely swims then we headed back downriver- then the real work begun! The wind was still blowing upriver so we were paddling against it- my shoulders were aching!
