Shapinsay old kirk

A fantastically calm and mild day. How lucky to have a ferry trip today!

Managed to get all the jobs done with half an hour to spare, so I had a wander round the old kirk yard. The first church, Lady Kirk, was built in 1559 probably on the site of an earlier Chapel. The ruins of a later church, built in 1802 are also here. Many interesting old grave stones. Must make sure I have more time on my next visit.
