Small Arms

Today we minded the kids for the day.
We decided to head west to the neighbouring town of Lithgow, 25 minutes drive.
We killed about 3/4 hour at a great new park which has just opened with all sorts of kid stuff.

Then we took them to the Small Arms Museum. We thought it might not be all that interesting to them but they really enjoyed it.
The Lithgow Small Arms Factory was a major industry in the town from 1912. It was very active in supplying weapons during various conflicts and although much of the factory is now closed some manufacturing of military hardware continues.
The museum is under separate ownership and has a large collection of military and civilian firearms.

On the way home we stopped off at Hassans Walls with its 270 degree views (extra).
