Who'd have thought it, eh? To my small but faithful band of subscribers who endured weeks of blips of vintage British Rail posters uncovered by repair work at richmond station last year (new subscribers, start here), you may have imagined that they've all long been disposed of or scraped off or painted over by now. But no! instead, the authorities have carefully put up frames around one stairway of them, and covered them with perspex, and they have become a kind of gallery installation! What gay times we live in, with no thought as to cost or to lost advertising revenue. Hurrah!
