Last day

Our last day of a very relaxing break. We took a tour round the west of the island which was very mountainous with vast tracts of wooded mountains with the odd isolated village. The bigger settlements cling to the sea - Camara de Lobos much beloved of Churchill; Ribeira Brava where we stopped for coffee and Porto Moniz in the NW corner of the island which has interesting lava rock formations fashioned into outdoor swimming pools. Although sunny there was a cool breeze and swimming was not on the cards today. Suspect it will be a lot colder when we get home tomorrow.
