Bogata - Old City

Our client here arranged for us to have a tour of the old city before we began our lunchtime meetings. It was an excellent chance to find out a little more about the Andean capital of Columbia.

The people here are friendly and helpful. On a Sunday many roads are closed to all vehicles so that cyclists, runners and walkers have free rein. ( I know that Edinburgh is planning to try something similar soon but Bogata has stolen a march here!)

The majority of visitors seemed to be Columbian and those that did not have bikes of their own were renting them from many bike rental outlets. There were many markets in full swing too and when we had finished our city tour we visited a local one near our hotel. The range of goods being sold was amazing too.

Afternoon meetings went well followed by a very late lunch ahead of the first of three very full working days here beginning in the morning.

So far, jet lag and altitude - we are almost 6000 ft above sea level - have not impeded us.  Being 5 hours behind the UK, however, does take some getting  used to.
