Legodude

Tis the season #13

Finally had time to sit and catch up with your journals and comments tonight. And this is a rarity, I'm posting close to 10PM rather than midnight. Today's picture shows the Christmas lights outside the Maybury Gala Casino in Edinburgh. Building dates from the 1930s and is a great example of art deco, a style I'm a big fan of. Aberdeen has a great art deco hotel that hopps1 probably knows. Mrs. Legodude's grandparents remember when the building was a dance hall when they were young, which was possibly its original function. Shame dance halls went out of fashion as they sound a great way of socialising and passing the time. Anyways I digress. The Maybury gained notoriety in June 2008 when a gambling addict's father was shot by a hitman outside the casino due to his son's enormous debts. Thankfully the victim survived, his son was jailed for fraud in July 2010. A couple of my colleagues enjoy gaming here. I like gambling which is precisely why I don't do it apart from the odd occasion. Shouldn't spend much more time on blipfoto tonight, my wife's started referring to it as my mistress!
