Positive quotation

Arrived at my gym in Bexley to find out that both my zumba and aqua classes were cancelled.

Substituted this for a quick workout in the gym followed by a swim in the pool. I don't think I burned up many calories today.

Met up with friends for lunch in the cafe at Hall Place, Bexley. This historic house was built in 1537 and many of its original features remain today and is open to visitors.

The gardens are beautiful and renowned for their topiary known as the Queen's Beasts. These enormous heraldic animal topiary were planted in 1953 in celebration of the Queen's coronation .

The former walled gardens have a sub tropical glasshouse and a butterfly house .

Bad weather and lack of time (I had an afternoon dental checkup) prevented a tour of the gardens. I will return another time and take some pictures. Hall Place is on the River Cray where lots of ducks and geese can be seen.

My blip is of an exhibition entitled Young Art in Bexley which is located in The Stables Gallery. This 17th C stable block was converted into an art gallery displaying works by local artists on 2005.
