Showing Off

I often work at the kitchen table, with my camera set up on the tripod.  I look up frequently hoping to catch action at the feeder.  The ultimate is spotting the hawk and sure enough, there she was.  I had to get down on my hands and knees to crawl over to the camera, then slowly rise up.  Otherwise, she would have seen the movement and my chance would be over.  I like this shot because it looks like she's wearing a flowing white dress.

Shortly after this photo, she swooped down for a catch.  I couldn't see what it was, but it had to have been a small creature.  A few minutes later she sat in a tree, digesting before heading further into the woods.
