A large flock of Curlew

After an early morning walk when I saw one Brown Hare and one Buzzard but very little else. I stopped the car on straight stretch of the main road home. I spotted a large flock and thought I'll just count these Woodpigeon and see if anything else is with them....
There were over a hundred birds in two fields near the reservoirs but most of the birds were Curlew - I counted them three times and settled on 73 - it may be a few more or less.  35 Woodpigeon 4 Starling and 2 Mallard.  Its the largest  flock of Curlew I have ever seen and I can only think that the high winds overnight had made them flock together in a relatively sheltered area.   It made my day :-)
