Another Day; Another Meal
Our new Dutch friends, plus our older Portuguese amigos.
Weather forecast wasn't great and would have been uncomfortable trying to squash that many people into our one room, so Mike and Henk rigged tarpaulins, and good job, as it was very windy and rained as well at one point.
Food was amazing. Cecílio brought a baked bacalhau dish made with prawns and spinach and an almond tart. Hanneke brought a Dutch apple pie and two salads. Senna contributed the asparagus he'd picked, which I cooked with garlic, bacon, and eggs. The Padre brought a homemade molotov. Ricardo brought chicken soup. And much else. Mike baked bread. Plus, I had actually made plenty of food myself... we shall be eating leftovers for a good while.
Gratefuls:
- friends, old and new, we are so rich!
- the weather not ruining the experience, actually quite fun listening to the rain splattering the tarpaulin
- being able to take an almost whole molotov to the Roma, telling them we'd never be able to eat it all, which was true
