Six siskin

I knew we had more than a pair of siskin around in the garden but was truly surprised to be able to count six birds on this feeder.  We also had greenfinches on the other feeder as well as the goldfinches.  Our prize though goes the the bullfinch pair who seem to be permanent visitors now, even though they don’t feature in todays gallery.

p.s. note to self - clean out the porridge from the trays.  I always thought that if we bought sunflower hearts that all of the outer layer was removed.  Not so, the heart still has a husk which the goldfinches expertly remove while in situ.  The bluets on the other had take them away to strip down.
