Looking out from Picton Harbour
As the Interislander Ferry arrives in Picton, it does a 180 degree turn and reverses up to moor. It's nowhere near the size of a cross-channel ferry, but it's way bigger than anything most of us ever try to park, so, respect.
If you've been standing at the front of the boat all the way from Wellington, the reverse-parking means that suddenly you have a view back from Picton Harbour, out the way you've just come, through Marlborough Sounds. You wouldn't really know that there's a little port right behind you.
