Very evidential

Tiny fresh scratch marks on this trunk tell me that little gliders (flying possums) are still in this corridor of bushland.  Being able to glide from tree to tree and scamper through the branches means they can escape introduced predators like cats and dogs.  They manage to escape human eyes too by being nocturnal.
