Oberammergau crib set

A bit stuck today, and certainly not a day to venture out unless absolutely necessary. Lots of souvenir shops in Oberammergau, where we'd been for the Passion Play a couple of years ago, but with regulated prices there was no sense of being ripped off. Lots of very fancy stuff, but I was rather taken with the simplicity (and price!) of this little crib scene.

The question has recently been raised as to the presence of animals at the birth of Jesus. I thoroughly enjoyed a local school's Nativity Play this week which told the Christmas story very clearly, including charismatic chickens, cops and robbers and cool dudes!
