Sally Army

When I was a little girl, I lived right next door to the Sally Army in Bangor Road, Leith. Every Sunday, we were treated to the sight and sound of the Sally Ann marching out onto Bangor Road and then onto Great Junction Street and somehow the image of that little marching band never lost its magic.

Today's image features Val who was braving the cold and the crowds on Princes Street collecting money to help those less well off than herself. I'm not a religious person but sometimes the goodness of others really tugs at my heart strings and it never fails to make me realise just how lucky I am.

If you see Val or any of her comrades, please give what you can because even a little can make a big difference to someone's life.
