Nothing stays the same
I bought these at least nine years ago. Mom and I always used to go Christmas bauble shopping at a garden centre about twenty minutes from ours. I would spend a disgusting amount on a few baubles but these have become some of my favourite and most looked after ones.
Things change and we stopped going a while ago. I drove past there today and decided to go for lunch and check out the Christmas shop.
Sadly the Christmas bauble shop is no more. There was still a restaurant though. To cut a long story short the service was abysmal. People who ordered well after me were being served. I complained, waited, complained some more and eventually snarled at a manageress.
I ended up with a full refund, a free lunch but with a hair on my plate.
I took my leave and spent not a penny in there.
I had the conversation with a friend yesterday that things change, people change. The best we can do is hold on to the coattails of life and try and make the most of it.
On another note I Christmas shopped without hubby and it was a joy. So much easier. That realisation has taken 18 years.
