Angel

If you climb a mountain,
and it takes every straining of every muscle to do it,
and when you get there
your view is so breathtaking
that suddenly you forget the pain.
If you work so hard
that you can't remember being more tired
in your whole god infested life,
and yet you see what you have built
and you can only smile in wonder.
If you run a hundred miles,
and then you run a hundred more,
and suddenly the act of putting one foot
in front of another trainer clad foot
becomes as obvious to you as breathing.
If you sing, you shout,
you fly, you make out.
If you care, you inspire,
you translate your desire.
If you shoot so straight that you cannot miss,
that the path is lit, and you get your kiss.
Well all is cool and all is true,
but none compares to you, darling you.
