Frost burn

I noticed when I returned from Bristol that the buds on the Magnolia tree we’re much further open than usual. I had seen quite a few in full bloom in Bristol and have seen a few not far off around here.

The danger at this time of year is early frost followed by sun which is what we had this morning. This can scorch the petals as you can see in this bud.

Hopefully the majority of the buds will open without too much damage and we can enjoy the lovely blooms fully open on this tree soon.
