The Whotsit

What is it? Its a Whotsit of course.
This is actually a baked clay whistle in the likeness of a whotsit I reckon. Not only can we not identify what animal it might be but we can't even remember where it came from. I think it came from South East Asia via stepson. Herself is dubious om my thinking. The mystery Whotsit. 
However, if you blow into that hole under its front paws a good strong whistling sound emanates from the hole down the side there.
