The long march

Another long day after a very steady start.
All aboard the coach at 0900 for a short drive to the slopes of Villarica volcano, a walk up to some craters from old vents and a walk down a lava tube.
Unfortunately the road up to the starting point had washed away “about 1 km from the start of the hike” according to the guide.
Somehow his 8 km hike turned into nearly 11 miles! We lost one member of the party - later found asleep in the coach, who two spent two hours in the cafe having been unable to make the short climb that turned out to be 1500 m!!!!
Safely back now, beer beckons...
