Or smoked haddock to others turned into a steaming hot bowl of homemade Cullen Skink.

Fish landed in Peterhead 20 miles from where we live by my friends son who skippers a fishing boat, then smoked locally by a man in the same town who does it in a shed in his garden and then delivered to me 48 hours later. You cannot get much fresher smoked haddock if you tried.

Then converted by my dearest into my favourite soup and served with some crusty bread. First time she has made this and I must confess I was deeply impressed.

On a cold,wet and windy winters evening there is nothing better. Now must go and see what is for pudding.
