Flowering currant.....

.....in a still dormant beech hedge. N and I did a long ‘litter picking up ‘ walk today ( in the rain) and on the way I noticed the currant beginning to appear. It made a wonderful splash of promise and hope in amongst last autumns leaves. Been grey and damp all day .... we went to our local garden centre for afternoon tea with mum .... a gift to her from my sister in the US ....and out to friends in the evening:)
