A patriotic blip

Red, white and blue of course.

Just a nice photo you might think.

But then having an idle ten minutes whilst I waited for Mrs. K., it led me to thinking about the difference between patriotism an nationalism. Wikipaedia warns you not to confuse them. But the differences can be quite subtle. But if we want to understand what is happening in Britain and America at the moment it is perhaps important to try to get the meaning clear in ones mind.
The conclusion I came to is that it is possible to be patriotic wihout being a nationalist.
