Thankfully Not A Southern

Green shieldbugs have been in the news recently. There's an interloper, the southern green shieldbug from Africa via Europe, which can ruin bean, tomato and raspberry crops.. Fortunately mine is the harmless common green shieldbug. It still has a tinge of the bronze colouration that it sports in winter. It's on a leaf of lovely ruffled (but frost sensitive) Melanie ivy.

I Googled how to identify a southern. They have a row of white spots and two black spots on the triangular shape on their backs (scutellum) and their folded wing tips are greenish rather than brown.
