Ta Dah!

Backblipped

Was the thought that popped into my head when I arranged these flowers in the vase.  Like little spring fireworks :-))

My stepdad John and Norma were coming for dinner so after lunch I got the beef with red wine casserole made and into the oven, so they were greeted by good smells when they arrived at 4pm.

It was a beautiful spring day...wall to wall blue skies and sunshine...most unexpected, so they enjoyed the drive to get here.  Lola and Alan were thrilled to see them, as were we.

John is back to his usual cheerful self after the bitter disappointment of having his knee operation cancelled at the last minute due to his heart scare.  He's getting a heart scan on 21st March and all being well, hoping his knee op will follow in the not too distant future, assuming he gets the all clear.

He was shocked however, to recently learn that a medical Consultant he's been seeing annually for 15 years since he operated on him, and who he had nothing but praise for, has been convicted of the online grooming of a 14 year old girl (well he thought it was a 14 year old girl, it was actually a policewoman) and sending her indecent photos of himself.  He was arrested when he turned up at a Travelodge where he'd arranged to meet her.  I was speechless when he told me.  His poor wife and children!

After dinner we had a very relaxing evening chatting and Lola loved the attention she got from them both.  They absolutely adore her (and the feeling is mutual :-)  In fact she was enjoying herself so much, she wasn't fussed about going out for her night walk round the block, preferring to stay in and play tug with Norma as well as being petted from head to tail.
