Defending the territory

Today Raki managed her first proper coast path walk, from the cliffs near our house to Fishguard Fort. Built in 1781 in response to an American pirate raid, 16 years later its guns were fired to deter the French from landing in the harbour. They landed further down the coast in more difficult terrain, and the rest is history. In the present day Raki is more concerned to defend her own space and make sure that anyone who enters it, person or dog, does so with friendly intentions.

We returned inland by the 'green lane'. Extras show Jacob's lambs and blackthorn blossom.
