Liking the Balalaika

Enjoyed an afternoon tea concert in Dartmouth today, listening to an eclectic programme of music from a Russian father and daughter - Sergei Kosov on balalaika and Ekaterina Shetliffe on grand piano.

The reason Sergei's fingers are a blur is they were simply moving too fast for my simple camera to catch them in focus. It was a fabulous concert from Bach's Badinerie to the Beatles, via tradtional Russian music and much more. Sergei even imitated the banjo for some numbers!

It was the best place to be, I think, given the bitter gales and sharp, heavy showers, though the sunny intervals have been nice to look at from behind the warmth of windows.
