Mystery

Does anyone please know what this shrub is ?. Smooth dark green leaves. Very dull until spring when this happens. Needs a macro lens to see it well. 

Time with a chat with Phil - the -Camera. I find the focusing is poor now with the Canon macro lens on Sony camera.  This is done with Manual focus.
