Design of man, in the name of God
Last night was wonderful. Between 8 - 10pm the meteor shower was visible. Drove a couple miles outside of town to the lake to avoid light pollution and sat in the cold with my friends watching the skies. The simpler things in life are sometimes the best. With the absence of computers and video games we spent two hours chatting and laughing and pointing out each "shooting star".
In harsh contrast, today was a show of society's worst. While at my desk at work a news report hit the internet about a school shooting in Connecticut, USA. 27 dead (last time I checked). 18+ of the deaths being very very young elementary students. I've been interested in psych material lately. I feel even more inclined to delve into the wonders and horrors of the human mind.
The cruelty of the world cannot be denied nor ignored. But I choose to be grateful and reassured by the kindness and peace and the kinship I have.
Oh, and here's a completely unrelated blip of a beautiful church down the street from me.
