Little Joy

There was little joy last night when the howling wind reminded me that the roofer is due next week to totally replace our crumbling roof.  The thud had me up like a shot checking that all ceilings were intact!

Then joy presented itself when all these gorgeous flowers came out so vibrant and smiling.

There was no joy when I saw the state my Welsh pals had left the flat in - with new guests tomorrow and the smell of stale smoke lingering I remembered my little bundle of joy and rushed off to buy some to help disguise the smell.

And there they were again when I returned home exhausted from lack of sleep, two days of painting and some serious cleaning, still bearing their smile and still so vibrant and jolly.

I know I am biased and love all things from the soil but really, you can;t help but enjoy these little beauties, made all the special as they were a gift.

Now lets hope that the roof can limp through a few more days of storm whatever it's called.
