Just the Two of Us

It was great to see the feeders full of tinies with the wind, rain and cold weather sweeping across the Shire but what was really sweet was seeing mister make way for missus on the coconut fat-ball. I had wondered how the coconuts could possibly be emptying so quickly but all was revealed when I saw their huge beaks tucking in which they seemed to prefer to the nuts for a change. It's my first catching the pair of great spotted woodpeckers together like this and hopefully they will bring their offspring here as usual in due course.
