BOOK DAY

Reading Day Today - I was given this book in the summer and now it has returned and it is the time to begin reading . . . yes an old-fashioned paperback book ! My Kindle awaits.

Mystery in the Minster by Susanna Gregory

The cover shows York Minster. This is a tale of murder and betrayal in the medieval city of York, featuring Matthew Bartholomew, a teacher of medicine and investigator of murders in the14th-century.

This book was one of 5000 given to folk in York as part of the Big City Read. The beauty is that each book is numbered. Readers are encouraged to read it, enjoy it and then pass it on. By using the website you can track where it has been and add comments. I have just got this back and so I look forward to seeing where it has been !

800 and counting . . . York is celebrating 800 years since it was granted its Royal Charter by King John in 1212 enabling the city to govern itself.
