This is our new-look sitting room downstairs. The stove (Contura 820t) is in place and the furniture rearranged to change the focus of the room. This is the room viewed under the two ceiling lights, rather brighter and more direct lighting then when we sit here. Then it tends to be up-lights and much cosier.
The red silk in the stove is a sort of pretend fire, while we wait for the sweep to come and give us the OK to start burning.
Activities today included clearing wet heavy snow that fell all day yesterday and this morning. As we cleared snow more snow slid off the roofs!  Anyway, good training for the body, which will maybe help next week, because the other activity today was packing for the Alps. I'm soon off to Cervinia in northern Italy, at the foot of the Matterhorn, for a week's skiing.
Hopefully the Alps will help take my mind of Brexit, which is turning out far worse than I imagined, and I have a very good imagination!
