Is it Abstract?
Ingeborg posed the question "What you think of when you think of abstract?". It is a difficult question to answer, as it can mean many things from highly geometric images to an in-depth analysis of a particular subject. I tend to the former, but include in-camera photographic techniques such as ICM (intentional camera movement), and images produced by extreme photo editing techniques, such as "Tiny World" (polar co-ordinates in PS).
Does an image captured in a glass ball count as an abstract? Detail has certainly been abstracted from the wider scene (my very untidy computer desk area), and warped by the curvature of the glass. I'll leave it to you to decide!
