Droopy but Dreamy

I bought this bunch of tulips yesterday, and the cashier gave me a sad look and suggested I add pennies to the water.  I've never done that but I have heard that it's a remedy for droopy flowers.  What she didn't understand was that I wanted them in that condition.  They had so much more potential than solid- colored closed flowers.
