Escaping

TM got home this morning from a couple of days in London. He had time to kill before his train yesterday and decided to go up to Westminster. He had to fight his way through the camera crews and protesters and wondered why he'd thought it was a good idea to go there.

Added to today's news, it was reason enough to seek distraction and tranquillity, but the hail showers and icy wind ruled out taking to the hills.

We found ourselves in Peebles. The main shot is the town's War Memorial, set in a quadrangle off the main street.  

The extras are the school children's march protesting against global warming and the lack of serious action to combat it, and a shot taken in a little second-hand bookshop that we stumbled upon. 

It had shelf upon shelf of children's books, and one took me back to the age of twelve when I thought the best thing in the world would be to be sent to boarding school in the Swiss Alps ....
